the game has been very successful spawning numerous games, live action movies, animated movies and merchandise.The series took the zombie idea and flipped it on its ear with the normally slow trodding decayed flesh eaters eventually evolving into fast moving sinister adversaries in the 4th and 5th games of the franchise. The games always featured more than just zombies but mutated dogs, giants spiders, infected birds and all sorts of creatures not easily explained. At the heart of the zombie plague has always been the evil pharmaceutical corporation Umbrella.
